Scope & exceptions

For registered D-4-1 students continuing a university-affiliated Korean-language course inside Korea. Other D-4 subtypes and changing to D-2 are separate procedures.

Ask your language office about next-term registration, attendance and any group-submission deadline. A school’s group-service fee or deadline is not a nationwide rule.

How to get it
This is a document category, not one certificate. Use the housing selector below to see the usual evidence to ask for.

Check that the address matches your current residence. Confirm the accepted evidence and attachments with your school or immigration.

Select the arrangement to see which evidence to request. Immigration decides what it accepts.

Ask for your current lease (임대차계약서). Check the address and tenancy period.

Request 기숙사 거주확인서 (dormitory residence confirmation) from the dormitory office.

Ask for 거주/숙소제공 확인서 (accommodation confirmation). Depending on the arrangement, the provider’s ID, lease/ownership or business evidence may also be needed. Confirm the attachments.

From
Bank and, for family support, the relevant civil authority
How to get it
Some school checklists also list remittance records, transaction history and family-relationship evidence. Ask which applies to your funding arrangement, the period to cover and any translation/authentication format before obtaining foreign documents.

Before you submit

  1. Apply before your stay expires. A visit booking only reserves a slot.
  2. Check HiKorea for online submission or a visit. Confirm fees, originals/copies, certificate age and any additional evidence.
  3. Ask 1345 about special cases. Keep your receipt and check the decision.

Official sources, review date & coverage

Checked against the linked official sources on the date above, including HiKorea’s 6 November 2026 manual. A family-level route is not every subtype’s final checklist. Penalties shown are legal maxima for the stated violation, not predicted charges. Official notices and individual immigration instructions take precedence.
